Last week Altus, along with over 100 attendees, participated in ANCOR's Annual Technology Summit and Showcase in Denver, Colorado. The goal of this conference was to bring together peers, advocates and experts to talk about ways technology can help the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) community achieve the goal of better health, better care and lower cost.
We thought this was the perfect theme for us, since our focus as a company is to deliver software solutions that improve provider agencies' operational efficiencies in order to achive those three goals. It was interesting to see how many people came by our booth and shared their issues with us such as:
- "We have too many different systems to manage"
- "None of our systems talk to each other"
- "Our team spends hours manually doing things such as time sheet entry and scheduling"
- "We have so many paper-based processes that bog down our staff"
- "Our organization is growing fast (and so are the amount of people we serve) and our systems can't keep up"
We understand the pain they're going through because so many of the organizations we work with every day experienced those exact same issues before we started to work with them. At our booth we were excited to not only be able to provide them with yummy candy, pens, and power banks - but also with some solutions to the problems they expressed, and offer to connect with them post-conference to provide our free cost savings assessment and give them a guided trial of our software!
We also had the opportunity to present a session on "Technology as a Recruiting Tool: How to Attract and Retain an Exceptional Workforce," where we covered the topics of attracting and retaining millennials, dealing with turnover and streamlining overall workforce management. We were surprised to learn that many of the attendees of our session were dealing with turnover rates as high as 48% (WOW!), so it was quite the hot topic.
Some of the solutions we talked about were things like using mobile systems to connect your remote workforce, making it easier for employees to do their jobs by removing tedious adminstrative tasks, and putting in place processes and tools to make managing turnover easier.
It was also amazing to have Trevor Ducharme, Director of Adminstration from Robin Hood Association, join our presentation and share with everyone how his organization built the business case for the technology investments in order to secure funding and make his project happen. Their organization recently implemented our Finance Management, Workforce Management and Case Management solutions to create a streamlined, all-in-one solution for their agency.
If you missed Trevor's presentation or would like to learn more about how their agency built the business case for their technology investment, he's presenting a webinar on November 8th at 2pm EST and you can register by clicking the link below!
