At Altus, our top priority is ensuring that our clients haveyousuf_and_John.png the right tools in place to allow them to reach their greatest potential. A big part of this is delivering exceptional support to keep their operations running smoothly. As our client list keeps growing, so does our team, and our latest editions belong to the Support Department! In this Humans of Altus post I will be getting to know a little bit about new hires Yousuf Khan and John Koo. Read on to see what they had to say about working for our Support Team:

Yousuf Khan

What do you most enjoy about working in our Support Department?

I have always been interested in problem solving and have never been one to shy away from a challenge, especially in the work that I do. By being a part of the Support Team I get to work with clients on their ERP requests and am able to bolster my ability to troubleshoot and provide sound resolutions in such a diverse environment. I love that my role offers a unique opportunity to assist clientsYousuf_round.jpg toward success.

What do you most like to do in your free time?

I am a huge proponent of healthy living in all aspects. Whether it is going out to participate in some sort of physical activity, or keeping up a healthy diet, I strongly believe you are a product of what you put into yourself. By strengthening yourself you can look your best, feel your best, and do your best in every aspect in life.

How do you like to give back to the community?

Charity and appreciation for what I have in life are central themes I like to live by. Often in our busy lives we can forget to be thankful for our own privileges, and with today’s global affairs, I think it’s more important than ever to keep this idea in mind. My motto in life has always been to give back to those who are less fortunate than myself. I try to live up to this ideal by donating clothes regularly and volunteering at food drives. When I can’t volunteer, I try to just remain thankful, because compassion is so important for us to keep in mind as human beings, opening the door to make a difference in the lives of others.

What do you most enjoy about working in our Support Department?

I am always looking to better myself in the work that I do. Something that I really like about working for the Altus Support Team is that it allows me to not only learn new technical skills, but also enhance my current skillset. I am constantly challenged by the diverse clients we work with, so it creates a great John_Koo_round.jpgenvironment to problem solve, grow, and provide a valuable service to clients.

What do you most like to do in your free time?

I have recently moved from Calgary, and am currently living on my own because my family is still out there. This means I have to learn how to cook! I have been living off breakfast cereal, and I think it’s time for a change! So, as of right now, I spend most of my free time trying to improve my cooking ability so that I can have better food while I’m at home.

How do you like to give back to the community?

I’m still very new to Toronto so I haven’t had a chance to get involved with the community yet. When I was in Calgary though, I liked to bring my daughters to the community center for the various activities they put on there. I also really enjoyed participating in some of the volunteer programs that the community centers had.
