LiUNA Local 183 To Provide Enhanced Member Services With Altus Dynamics CRM

Posted by Colin Dickinson on Mar 6, 2013 3:01:00 PM

liunaLiUNA Local 183 is North America’s largest construction union, representing over 30,000 members primarily in the Greater Toronto Area, with additional offices in Barrie and Cobourg. Members work in the construction industry including water main, residential, industrial, road construction, bridge building, pipeline, utilities and railroads. The Members Training and Rehabilitation Fund supports this mandate by providing support services to its members.

When we were first approached by LiUNA they had already done extensive research into the solutions in the marketplace. They wanted a local vendor and an experienced partner with a strong client base and a high standard of expertise. We were of course local but it was our status as a Gold Certified CRM Partner and Microsoft Canada’s Dynamics CRM Partner of the Year that differentiated us.” says Altus Dynamics Founding Partner, Nicola Dickinson. “Coupled with our not-for-profit sector experience, it gave them a level of reassurance and comfort that we knew how to tailor and implement it to meet their needs.”

LiUNA local 183’s existing solution was not fulfilling the needs of the organisation and its stakeholders as well as it could. There were different systems carrying out inter-related functions independently and without communicating with each other, resulting in a drain on staff time and therefore reduced efficiency. What they needed was one integrated system capable of bring together the tasks and processes associated with member management, training registration, course scheduling as well as donation management.

The new Altus Dynamics solution will be able to do all of that in one place. There are also plans for the creation of integrated web portals which will allow union members to access the information LiUNA hold on them such as membership details, courses taken, accreditation details etc. Down the line there will also be a facility for employers to search for skills as they relate to positions they have and the system will match the role with possible candidates at the click of the button.

The savings in terms of time and effort just by empowering users to access their own details will free up staff to focus on more productive tasks than taking phone queries from members to pull these details” says James Faw, VP of Product Innovation at Altus Dynamics. “Couple this with improved workflows, processes and real time reporting capability, LiUNA will have a solution allowing them to provide a far superior service to their tens of thousands of members.
