Welcome back to our “Find a Funder” blog series.

For this installment of the series, we are profiling an Ontario government corporation that not only provides electricity to the province, but also offers an extensive community donation program: Hydro One.

Hydro-One-LogoA former subsidiary of Ontario Hydro, Hydro One traces its origins back to 1906 with the establishment of the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario. Dedicated to delivering Ontario’s energy future, the company is renewing the province’s transmission and distribution grid to continue to connect its customers to safe and reliable electricity.

Being proud of the communities in which they serve, Hydro One does more than provide them with electricity by giving back through their community investment programs. To maintain their status as a good corporate citizen, the company and its partners continue to develop initiatives that encourage strong communities and an overall strong Ontario.

One way that Hydro One provides benefit to their communities is through their donations program. With the program, the company chooses to focus its charitable giving on four areas:

  • Safety & Injury Prevention
  • Energy Education
  • United Way Campaigns throughout Ontario
  • PowerPlay (Hydro One’s own program)

If you believe that Hydro One’s donation program may be able to provide benefit to your organization, follow this link to receive more information and find out how to apply.
