Altus Dynamics - Settling in to Our New Home

Building_Logo_Far_718In case you hadn’t heard, we’ve moved!

For many years we were based in Liberty Village, at Dufferin Liberty Centre. It was a great place to be over the last 10 years. However, as our business continued to grow we started to get a little cramped in our space, so we went looking for a new, larger location.

We had no desire to have a stuffy corporate office made up of fluorescent lights, beige walls and the dreaded cube farm. Our vision was to offer employees a much more creative, open, and bright workspace. Once we’d found the right location for the team with a space that would give us the best potential we enlisted the help of AKB, an architect firm that won the Best Emerging Practice Award from Ontario Association of Architects in May 2014.

Our vision for the new space included open concept seating, team sections to support a collaborative work space for project success, private seating and access to meeting rooms and multi-work space options.

In our effort to create an inspiring work space, we added an abundance of large skylights and 18 foot windows to let in natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting. We’ve brought the outside in with large trees and shrubs throughout the office space providing a green aspect and additional oxygen supplies for the brain! The window’s open letting fresh air throughout the space, lowering the dependence on artificial cooling and air circulation. In the winter the office will be heated by energy efficient under floor heating keeping the environmental impact to a minimum.

Promoting a healthy work space included weekly organic fruit delivery, variety in coffee and teas provided to the staff. We also offer a private gym space for staff to get a workout in during their work day in our on-site gym (and showers of course!!).

The new location, in Toronto West, is easily accessible by Toronto’s major highways (427 and QEW) and via TTC (No.2 Bloor subway line) and Go Train services.
