We are super excited to announce that Altus Dynamics is being recognized as one of this year’s Best Workplaces in Canada! This list, and related stories, appeared in a special national report on Friday April 22, 2016 in The Globe and Mail.
“At Altus, we’re pleased, humbled and excited about being recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Canada.” states Colin Dickinson, President of Altus Dynamics. “Corporate Culture is not about what’s written on a plaque on your wall. It’s about what’s demonstrated in the hundreds of decisions made by your colleagues every day. There’s an expression that has motivated me for years: 'character is what you do when no one is watching.' Our place among these other worthy recipients is a testament to the hard work, dedication – and yes, character – that our colleagues demonstrate every day for each other and for our customers who do some of the best work on the planet. It’s an honour to work with them, and it’s a ton of fun to come to work with such a great group of people.”
Altus Dynamics embodies the “Work Hard, Play Hard” motto like no other. With employees doing whatever it takes to make our customers happy AND doing whatever it takes to win the recent employee 3on3 Basketball tournament, there’s no lack of drive or determination. With lofty goals for growth and bold strategic objectives that everyone in the company is aligned on, there’s no room for idleness. Take this and combine it with weekly lunch yoga sessions, organic fruit and gourmet coffee, a Quarterly Business Book Club, and lots of birthday cake, and you’ve got a place that not only challenges you, but also nurtures you.
This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria, with two-thirds of the total score coming from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees and their open-ended comments about their organization; and the remaining one-third of the score coming from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
This year’s list received over 300 nominations and over 60,000 employees participated in the 2016 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
One of our highest ratings was for "We celebrate special events", and we lived up to that this morning. The Altus office was full of Altus coloured balloons, and I Heart Altus mug for each employee and a awesome breakfast complete with Mimosas. Getting on the list was a huge accomplishment for us, but we know that building a great culture is something that we have to keep working on. So part of our morning was spent looking at the employee survey results and figuring out how to keep our high scores high and how to improve on the areas we scored lower in. It was amazing to see so many great employee ideas on how we can continue to build a great company. So watch out for us at the 2017 Awards!!
